A possible doctoral program in education at West Texas A&M University has received a green light from the Texas A&M University board of regents and is now headed to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The program was approved by the board of regents during their August 23rd meeting. The board approved the university's request for the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in educational leadership program during the meeting. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is now set to consider giving the program a final thumbs up.
If approved the program will be housed in the College of Education and Social Sciences at West Texas A&M University. WTAMU says that the program "will prepare visionary and executive professionals to recognize and serve the needs and challenges of rural communities."
If approved, the doctoral program will be offered online and on-campus.
The program is expected to launch in the Fall of 2018.
