The city manager of Fritch, Drew Brassfield, is planning to run against Representative Four Price.
Brassfield has launched a campaign Facebook page as part of his announcement of challenging Price in 2018. Brassfield has served as city manager for the City of Fritch since early in 2017. Brassfield worked at Bell Helicopter prior to taking the reins in Fritch. Brassfield took over from Steve McKay, who was fired from Fritch on September 20, 2016.
Billing himself as a conservative, Brassfield announced his candidacy by saying, "After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to run for State Representative. I would love your prayers, your financial support, and your willingness to share my campaign with others!"
Four Price was first elected in 2010, defeating restaurateur Victor Leal in the Republican primary and later besting Democratic Abel Bosquez in the general election. Price later defeated Bosquez again in 2012, and has not had a challenger since.
Other potential candidates for state representative include former candidate Abel Bosquez and business owner Craig Gualtiere.
Interested candidates have until December 11th to file.
