City of Amarillo Planning Brush Site Meetings as Discussions on Closings Continue

While some City officials have been discussing closing the local brush sites at the conclusion of this fiscal year's budget, the City Council is preparing to hold community meetings next week.

According to information from the City of Amarillo, officials from the Public Works Department will be seeking public input on the brush sites in an upcoming series of public meetings. The meetings will allow residents to hear the City's plans and to express concerns and feedback.

The meeting schedule will be as follows:

  • Monday, Aug. 14, East Branch Library, 2232 E. 27th

  • Tuesday, Aug. 15, North Branch Library, 1500 N.E. 24th

  • Thursday, Aug. 17, Downtown Library, 413 E. 4th

  • Monday, Aug. 21, Northwest Branch Library, 6100 W. 9th

Each meeting appears to begin at 6pm.

Members of the Amarillo City Council and the Amarillo Environmental Task Force will be on hand for the meeting, according to documents from the City.
