Both of Texas' major league baseball teams will be getting some new blood in the bullpen.
The Texas Rangers announced today that the team had reached a deal to acquire Miguel Gonzalez from the Chicago White Sox. Texas acquired Gonzalez from the White Sox in exchange for the minor leaguer Ti'Quan Forbes. Gonzalez is expected to be added to the Rangers' 40-man lineup today.
In one of the bigger deals from around the league, the Houston Astros traded for Detroit's Justin Verlander. Verlander, of the Detroit Tigers fame, was traded for pitcher Franklin Perez, outfielder Daz Cameron and catcher Jake Rogers.
Discussion mounted on where Verlander would land, as the Chicago Cubs were also reportedly interested in picking up Verlander.
The Rangers and Astros will be back in action tonight.
