The Texas Rangers have defeated the Detroit Tigers in the final game of a three game series, boosting the team's chances of reaching the American League Wild Card.
The Rangers defeated the Tigers, 12-6. Run contributions came from many players on the lineup and Cole Hamels pitched a dominant six inning performance to pick up his eighth win of the season.
Detroit's Chad Bell took the loss for the game.
