City Council to Give Approval to Doubling Zoo Admission Fees

Members of the Amarillo City Council are expected to give final approval to a proposal that will increase fees at the Amarillo Zoo, during their meeting tonight.

In a package deal under the upcoming 2017-2018 fiscal year budget, members of the City Council are expected to double the cost of admission to the Amarillo Zoo. Currently, adults can access to Zoo for $2. Under the new plan, the cost of admission for adults will be $4, the cost of admission for seniors will be $3, the cost of admission for children three and older will be $2. The rate for those under 3 years of age will remain unchanged at $0.

The City Council voted unanimously last week for the first reading of the bill and is expected to give it approval upon its second reading tonight.

As we reported last week, Golf Course fees will also be raised if the item is approved.
