Xcel Energy has cancelled a plan to raise fees on energy usage by area residents.
It was announced yesterday that Xcel Energy had pulled the proposal. Under the initial proposal by Xcel Energy, residents could have expected a $1.48 per 1,000 kilowatt bill increase.
The proposal was filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, but was later pulled by the company on Monday.
If the proposal had gone into effect, residents could have expected the increase to run from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018.
