Local attorney Steven Denny has received a life-saving award from the Potter County Sheriff's Office for his actions in saving an inmate who attempted to commit suicide.
On August 21st, in a court holding at the Potter County Courthouse, an inmate attempted to commit suicide. The inmate was down and was not breathing. Officers on-hand began life-saving responses. Steve Denny, an attorney, was also on hand and jumped in to begin CPR efforts.
With a quick response from Denny and the officers on hand, the inmate survived the incident.
On Wednesday, Denny was presented with a plaque commemorating his actions on that day.
Denny commented on a release by the Sheriff's Office stating that while he appreciates the thanks from the community, the response to the incident was a team effort that also included the deputies on hand.
