Billy Glenn Ivy, Jr. Arrested for Attempted Capital Murder for Remuneration

The Amarillo Police Department is reporting that suspect Billy Glenn Ivy, Jr., 49, has been taken into custody for attempted capital murder for remuneration.

APD reports that officers learned early this week that a person was attempting to hire someone to murder people. On Thursday afternoon, APD's Special Crimes Unit conducted an undercover operation as part of their investigation. The suspect was seen in a vehicle in the 7200 block of South Georgia and it was determined that he was making phone calls to an undercover officer in Potter County. Investigators also determined that in the calls, the suspect offered money to the officer to murder more than one person.

At 3:30pm on Thursday, APD SWAT and Narcotics officers took suspect Billy Glenn Ivy, Jr. into custody. Ivy was transported to the Potter County Detention Center and was on booked on two counts of attempted capital murder for remuneration.

APD Special Crimes is continuing to investigate.
