The Amarillo Police Department is offering tips to residents on ways to prevent auto burglaries.
In new information released today by APD, last month 69 cars were stolen in the Texas Panhandle. Of all 69 cars stolen, 63 cars had keys that were left inside of the vehicle. APD is reminding residents to remove keys from vehicles and to be vigilant against warming up cars unattended during the winter.
