1. Name & occupation?

Carole McDaniel, Retired

2. What led you to Amarillo? How long have you been here?

I was born in Amarillo. Lived in Austin 1996 - 2000 and then returned to Amarillo.

3. What is a memory you have about the region that is no longer here?

Water Skiing and family outings at Buffalo Lake.

4. What are some events that happened in your life that made you who you are?

Thirty years working with, and advocating for, victims of crime. Also, the murder of my oldest son in 2006.

5. Where would you spend all your time if you could?

I love the ocean and lakes. I have travelled a lot, so I am very happy at home with my two furbabies (dogs).

6. Do you volunteer or sit on a board? Is yes where? If no where would you want to?

Volunteer for Indivisible Amarillo

7. What are you most passionate about?

Helping people who are discriminated against and animal abuse.

8. What is the strangest thing you've ever come across?

You really do not want to know

9. What is something you can never seem to finish?

Can not think of anything. I pretty much finish what I start.

10. What do you wish Amarillo had or did not have?

I wish Amarillo had a dog park and no kill shelter. I also wish Amarillo had safe places for teens to hang out.

11. What directions do you think Amarillo is headed?

I think Amarillo is full of good people, people who care about others. I also think it is stuck in the past.

12. What else should readers know about you?

I worked very hard for many years and had a challenging, rewarding career. I am very happy to be retired and doing what I want which involves political involvement
