Governor Greg Abbott has appointed an Amarillo resident to the Texas Task Force On Academic Credit And Industry Recognition.
According to information released this week by the Governor's Office, Governor Abbott appointed Tac Buchanan to the Task Force On Academic Credit And Industry Recognition. Buchanan, a graduate of Randall High School, is the regional coordinator for Bridges to Life. Bridges to Life is a faith based ministry working with various units with Texas Department of Criminal Justice and local juvenile facilities.
Buchanan was appointed with a term to end on December 1, 2021.
In addition to the appointment of Buchanan, Abbott appointed several others to the task force. Those appointed to the task force are: Mike Bell, Sam Hurley, Vanessa Steinkamp, and Jim Yeonopolus.
Members of the task force are appointed to identify academic credit and industrial recognition for offenders within the Windham School at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
