An arrest has been made in a homicide investigation launched this weekend, authorities say.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, on the evening of Friday, November 9th, officers heard a gunshot near Arthur Street while patrolling Amarillo Boulevard. Officers responded to the 700 block of North Arthur and found Brendal Johnson, 39, deceased in the street from a gunshot wound. APD Special Crimes Unit investigators spoke to multiple witnesses.
Authorities say Errick Smith, 45, was arrested in connection with the investigation and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
