No Bills from Local Reps Filed Yet

The first week of bill filing at the State Capitol has nearly completed, and no bills have been filed by any of the three representatives for the Amarillo area.

According to the general reports from the Texas Legislature’s website, 185 Senate bills have been filed so far, in addition to 398 filed House bills. Bills filed so far have covered everything from annexation, to taxes, to cannabis and more.

No bills have been filed yet by Representatives Four Price (R-Amarillo), John Smithee (R-Amarillo), or by Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo). However, nearby representative Ken King (R-Canadian) has filed two bills, one related to drug testing and the other related to the purchase of fire equipment.

Legislators will continue to file bills ahead of the 2019 session, which is slated to begin in January.
