What will Lubbock look like a few decades down the road? That’s what the Lubbock City Council set out to determine this week.
On Monday, the Lubbock City Council voted to approve the second reading of the Plan Lubbock 2040. The plan has been created to help guide City officials in Lubbock as to what issues need to be addressed in order to ensure growth in Lubbock through at least the mid-century mark.
The unanimous Council vote approved the plan, but it wasn’t without controversy. Some residents attended the meeting on Monday to voice their concerns that particular neighborhoods may not have adequate representation in the plans and the needs identified.
