Kathy Rollo is likely to become the next superintendent of Lubbock Independent School District after being named the sole finalist today.
Lubbock ISD board president Laura Vinson told Lubbock press today that Rollo was chosen as the sole finalist after the district received 16 applications from individuals interested in taking the reins in the city. Rollo was named the sole finalist after board members interview six of the candidates.
The board voted 6-1 during Monday morning's meeting to name Rollo the finalist.
After the state-required 21 day waiting period, Rollo, a former associate superintendent at Lubbock ISD, is expected to become the new superintendent.
