A new fire station is going up in Amarillo.
On Wednesday, City officials broke ground on a new fire station location at 2023 Paramount Boulevard. The new project is funded by bond money approved by voters during the 2016 municipal bond election. That bond passed, along with another bond, and was placed on the ballot by the City Council led by then-Mayor Paul Harpole.
This is one of several fire station and public safety projects planned through the passage of the 2016 bond.
