Amarillo City Councilmembers will be looking to spend big next week when they work to put some finishing touches on the downtown baseball park.
On Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will consider spending $1.6 million to purchase a scoreboard and audio equipment for the downtown ballpark. The purchase, if approved, will be awarded to Prismview, LLC, a Samsung company tasked with manufacturing electric signs.
Also, on Tuesday, Councilmembers will consider approving the construction of a fire station on Paramount Boulevard at the cost of $2.4 million, which will be funded by bond money, approved by voters in 2016. Council will also consider appointments to a variety of boards, including on the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.
Tuesday’s meeting will be held at 1PM in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). Public comment will begin at noon.
