Fire crews were on scene over the past two days working on several wildfires.
Wildfires broke out around the Panhandle on Thursday, spreading to various areas. A fire near Dumas Highway, north of Canadian River, was battled by crews on Thursday night. Crews also fought a fire that started southwest of Amarillo on Thursday. That fire was reported to be contained Thursday evening after burning 300 acres.
A large fire that started in Hartley County on Thursday was also battled by crews. That fire spread into Moore County and is believed to have covered about 6,500 acres.
The fires came as the Texas A&M Forest Service reported high fire conditions in the Texas Panhandle for this week. Similar conditions are expected through the weekend.
