17-Year-Old Charged in Amarillo Murder

A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a July, 2017 murder in Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, Matthew Cano, 17, has been charged with Murder Intentionally or Knowingly Causing Death and Murder Intend to Cause Serious Bodily Injury Causing Death. Cano is being charged in connection with the July 1, 2017 murder of Aaron Lancaster, 18, which took place in the 1600 block of North Manhattan.

APD says Cano, who was a juvenile at the time of the shooting, has been certified as an adult and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on March 5th.
