Sample Ballots Available for May 22nd Election

Sample ballots have been released for the Republican and Democratic primary runoffs in both counties.

In Potter County, Republicans will decide three elections. In the race for 320th District Judge, Potter County judge Pamela Cook Sirmon and criminal defense attorney Steven Michael Denny are vying to replace the retiring Judge Don Emerson. Sirmon will appear on the top of the ballot in that race.

Also, Republicans in Potter County will decide two Court at Law spots. For Potter County Court at Law #1, attorney Walt Weaver and Len Walker are vying to replace the retiring Judge Corky Roberts. Weaver will appear on the top of the ballot. In the Potter County Court at Law #2 race, voters will choose between attorney Matthew Hand and prosecutor Wade Overstreet. Overstreet will appear on the top of the ballot.

Democrats in both counties have one runoff to decide. In the race for governor, Houston businessman Andrew White and former Dallas County sheriff Lupe Valdez are vying for their party's nomination to take on incumbent Republican Greg Abbott in November. White will appear on the top of the ballot in Potter County, while Valdez will have the honor in Randall County.

Republicans will decide no primary runoffs in Randall County, as all contested primary contests were decided in the March 6th primary election. In those races, Matt Martindale won in a three-way field for Court at Law #2, Susan Allen won in the race for County Clerk and Terry Harman was re-elected in the race for County Chairman.

The runoff will be held on May 22nd. For information on how to vote in Texas, please visit votetexas.gov.
