Former Dallas sheriff Lupe Valdez outraised Houston businessman Andrew White ahead of the May 22nd runoff.
According to information reported to the Texas Ethics Commission, Valdez pulled in $291,000 over the most recent reporting period. Meanwhile, White pulled in $197,000 for his campaign.
However, while Valdez outraised White, the Houston businessman still holds a commanding cash on hand total. White is holding $981,000 on hand versus Valdez's $258,000 on hand.
The two candidates will meet in the May 22nd runoff in the race for governor. The winner will face Republican incumbent Greg Abbott and Libertarian Mark Tippetts in November.
