APD: Female Driver Suffers Life Threatening Injuries During Tuesday Wreck

A woman was transported to an Amarillo hospital on Tuesday with life threatening injuries, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Officers say that on Tuesday morning, officers were dispatched to the eastbound access road of Amarillo Boulevard West at North Western Street on the report of a single vehicle accident. Authorities say that witnesses observed the vehicle going west in the eastbound lanes of Amarillo Boulevard before exiting on the ramp. The vehicle then reportedly left the roadway and  hit a billboard sign before rolling and coming to a stop.

The driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

This incident is under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Squad.
