Buchanan Traffic Down to One Lane During MPEV Construction

Traffic on Buchanan Street will soon be down to one lane due to construction on the downtown baseball stadium.

According to the City of Amarillo, traffic will be cut to one lane on Buchanan, beginning on Saturday, June 2nd. The traffic change will last through next year to accommodate workers on the stadium project. Access to the downtown branch U.S. Post Office and Amarillo City Hall will not be affected by the change.

The change was announced as the City of Amarillo is currently in the process of construction on the downtown baseball park. Construction on the park is expected to be completed next year, with a projected opening date of April 2019 for the arena.

Officials say the traffic change will last through February 1, 2019.
