One longtime fixture of downtown Amarillo could remain open, according to reports.
The Amarillo Club, an exclusive restaurant located in the Chase Tower in downtown Amarillo, may reportedly be saved from its expected closure. Reports earlier this week from local television affiliate KFDA said that the Club has agreed to an offer of $250,000 from a group of local members to keep the club open. A letter from the Amarillo Club indicated that former Amarillo mayor Jerry Hodge was part of the group that offered a sum to help the Amarillo Club reopen and renegotiate a deal to stay open for a limited period of time.
A formal vote on dissolving the club was pushed back until August, and members are expecting the club to reopen in mid-to-late June.
