Amarillo Ranked in Bottom Half of Best Places to Live in Texas

Reportedly high crime rates and low high school graduation rates were just two of the issues mentioned in a recent survey placing Amarillo in the bottom half of the best places to live in Texas.

According to WalletHub's recent "Best Places to Live in Texas" survey, which ranked 117 different cities in the Lone Star State, Amarillo is in the bottom half of the list. While WalletHub ranked Amarillo high on the Family, Life & Fun rank, the Yellow City almost rounded out the field of 117 cities in the Health & Safety category, at rank 112. Average rankings for Affordability and a low rank for Socioeconomic Status also pulled Amarillo's numbers down the list.

Overall, Amarillo ranked the 70th best place to live in Texas, which puts the city in the bottom part of the rankings. Frisco received the rank for best city in Texas and San Benito received the rank for worst city on the list. Amarillo's largest neighbor to the south, Lubbock, ranked at 89.
