Amarillo ISD Trustees Accept Resignation for James Allen

Trustees for the Amarillo Independent School District voted unanimously this week to accept the resignation for trustee James Allen.

On Thursday night, trustees voted 6-0 to accept the resignation of Allen. Allen, who has served on the Amarillo Independent School District Board since 1999, resigned last week for undisclosed reasons.

During the meeting, school board president Jim Austin praised Allen for his service to the district before calling the question on accepting the longtime trustee's resignation.

"James was a good board member," Austin said. "He knew the challenges of the district."

Allen's term was meant to end in May of 2021.
