When the City Council returns to regular action on Tuesday, July 10th, Mayor Ginger Nelson says that she will not be in attendance.
According to statements made during Tuesday's meeting of the Amarillo City Council, Mayor Ginger Nelson said that she and Councilmember Elaine Hays will be at a conference in Kansas City on July 10th and will be unable to attend the City Council meeting. Due to the absence of Nelson and mayor pro tempore Hays, Councilmember Freda Powell will serve as the presiding officer of the meeting, if the Council is able to establish a quorum.
Additionally, no City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 3th.
Meetings with regular scheduling and attendance are expected to resume on Tuesday, July 17th.
