Animal Management & Welfare has released an official statement on a recent incident that saw a pregnant dog euthanized.
On Thursday, Animal Management & Welfare released a statement on a highly-publicized incident at the shelter. During the incident, a pregnant Pit Bull was reportedly euthanized, either while in labor or immediately after giving birth.
The statement can be found below:
On May 8th, a dog owner suffered severe injuries during a dog attack resulting in hospitalization and surgery. The owner was attempting to break up a fight among several of his dogs, which was initiated by his pregnant female dog. The next day, the same female dog attacked two more people and another dog. During the course of 24 hours, the owners surrendered two of their dogs due to their aggressive behavior toward both humans and other animals. A male, female and two puppies were humanely euthanized.
