A West Texas A&M University faculty member has been reappointed to a state board by Governor Greg Abbott.
This week, Abbott announced the reappointment of Kathy Shipp to the Texas Board of Nursing. Shipp, a Lubbock nurce practitioner and WTAMU Family Nurse Practitioner Program faculty member, was appointed for a term to end on January 31, 2023.
According to the Governor's Office, Shipp holds degrees from West Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin. Shipp is currently serving as chairperson of the board.
The Texas Board of Nursing has several duties related to nursing licensing in Texas. Among these duties are: overseeing professional nursing, examination of students, and standards of professional conduct for license holders.
