Arrests Made in 2015 Homicide Investigation

Several people are now in custody in connection with a homicide that occurred in 2015.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers have made arrests stemming from the December 21, 2015 homicide of Roberto Guadalupe Vasquez. Vasquez, 27, was found at 1736 SE 8th Avenue with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Vasquez later died at an area hospital.

Authorities say four suspects were identified in the case, including two suspects who were juveniles at the time of the homicide. Warrants were issued and the juvenile suspects were booked into the Potter County Correction Center. Both adults in the case were incarcerated for unrelated charges and warrants were issued while they were in the Randall County Jail. The adult suspects are identified as Melchor Vences, 22, and Brendan Givens, 20. Both suspects currently remain in the Randall County Jail.

The identities of the other two suspects have not yet been released.
