APD Makes Four Arrests in March Shooting Case

Amarillo Police have announced that four arrests have been made in a March shooting that took place in a parking lot at 5807 Southwest 45th.

According to APD, officers responded to a shooting on March 20th that reportedly involved an altercation between a group of people. Two men, ages 18 and 22, were shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Twenty-four cartridge casings were found at the scene and no firearms were recovered.

On Friday, April 27th, officers announced that four suspects had been identified in the case. On April 18th, a Randall County Grand Jury indicted Melchor James Vences, 23, Angelo Joseph Palma-Esquivel, 22, Brooklyn Marie Turner, 20, and Israel Juan Baca, 19, each on three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. On April 18th, APD SWAT officers located Vences, Esquivel-Palma, and Turner at a residence in the 3600 block of Center Avenue. The three suspects were arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail. Inside of the residence, officers also located four guns, ammunition, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

On April 26th, officers located Baca driving a vehicle in the 3900 block of Linda Drive. Baca was taken into custody and booked into the Randall County Jail.
