Potter Commissioners to Talk County Weapons Exchange

The Potter County Commissioners Court will vote next week on a proposal to trade in surplus weapons held by the Potter County Sheriff's Office.

According to an agenda posted for the Potter County Commission's meeting, Commissioners will consider voting to approve a proposal to trade in surplus weapons held by the Potter County Sheriff's Office to a vendor out of Austin. If approved, the agenda states that the Sheriff's Office will receive "more suitable" weapons in exchange for the surplus items. The exchange will be facilitated through GT Distributors, Inc. in Austin, Texas.

Also, during the meeting, Commissioners will consider voting to allow Potter County Memorial Stadium to be used for a Boots vs. Badges charity fundraising event. Commissioners will also vote on allowing employee compensation benefits and will hear reports on various topics from County staff and guests.

The Potter County Commission will meet on Monday, July 23rd in Room 106 of the Potter County Courthouse (500 South Fillmore). The meeting will begin at 9am.
