Potter County Commissioners to Approve Burn Ban

Emblem by Potter County

Potter County Commissioners will vote Monday on approving a burn ban for the county.

According to an agenda posted for Monday’s meeting, the emergency burn ban order will be approved to run for 90 days in Potter County, set for expiration on January 21, 2024. The burn ban order states that County Commissioners found “that persistent dry and windy weather conditions in Potter County are such that outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the County would present a public hazard.”

In addition to the burn ban, Commissioners will also consider approving a contract for outside counsel with Underwood Law Firm, as well as the acceptance of an Interlocal Agreement with Oldham and Armstrong Counties for Potter County’s public defender office.

The meeting will be held on Monday, October 23 at 9am at the Potter County Courthouse. Commissioners meet in Room 106.
