Betancourt Talks With Local Democrats

An Amarillo Independent School District trustee visited local Democrats this week.

On Monday, Amarillo Independent School District trustee John Betancourt was the guest speaker for the monthly meeting of the Potter-Randall Democratic Club. Betancourt, who has served as a trustee in Amarillo since 2015, told the group about state initiatives on student achievement and current events at the school district.

Additionally, Mike Purcell visited with those at the meeting. Purcell, a retired teacher, is the Democratic nominee for State Senator in District 86, challenging Republican John Smithee.

The Potter-Randall Democratic Club meets every month. Dues are $30 per person or $50 per couple.
