Senator Ted Cruz will be stopping in Amarillo next week as part of his campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
On Monday, Cruz will speak at Leal's Mexican Restaurant in Amarillo. The campaign stop will begin at noon and run through 2pm, as voters in the Amarillo area are invited to meet the incumbent Senator.
This will mark the second campaign stop in Amarillo for Cruz since announcing his bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate. The ex-presidential candidate previously stopped in Canyon for an event after announcing that he would be seeking a second term in the Senate.
Cruz is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, facing Democrat Beto O'Rourke and Libertarian Neal Dikeman in the November election. O'Rourke has made several stops in Amarillo since announcing his bid for the Senate, and Dikeman has made several trips to West Texas areas.
