Upgrades are coming to the University of Texas football stadium in Austin.
This week, the University of Texas System Board of Regents voted to approve a $175 million revamp project of the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The project will include new amenities, seating options and more, according to information released by the University of Texas.
According to the Texas Tribune, University officials are planning to finance the stadium improvements with $125 million in gifts and $50 million in revenue bonds. Currently, reports indicate around $30 million raised of the $125 million goal.
Seating in the stadium will not be increased by the project.
