Friday Afternoon Collision Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Friday afternoon.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were dispatched on Friday afternoon to the intersection of Pine and South Ross Osage on a motor vehicle collision. A 2008 Ford Mustang, driven by a 66-year-old female, had been eastbound on Pine, turning southbound on to Ross-Osage. A 2005 Cadillac Escalade, driven by a juvenile, was northbound on Ross-Osage. The Mustang allegedly disregarded the stop sign and pulled out in front of the Cadillac.

The driver of the Mustang was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was uninjured.

As of Friday, this incident was under investigation by the APD Traffic Investigation Unit.
