Governor Greg Abbott hit the airwaves on Thursday with a brand new campaign advertisement.
In the thirty second television spot, which was released on YouTube, Abbott touted "big promises" made during his first campaign for governor and said that he has a record of delivering on the promises during the first four years of his governorship. Specifically, Abbott touted Texas' unemployment rate and high school graduation rate as some of his major accomplishments.
"We're just getting started," Abbott said.
Abbott is currently seeking his second term as governor and is facing Democrat Lupe Valdez and Libertarian Mark Tippetts in November. Abbott, a former Texas Attorney General, was elected for his first term in 2014, defeating Democrat Wendy Davis, 59 percent to 39 percent. Libertarian Kathie Glass won 1 percent.
