Amarillo Police Investigating Fire and Shooting

Amarillo Police are investigating a fire and shooting that occurred on Wednesday.

According to APD, officers were dispatched on Wednesday afternoon to a possible fire in the 1900 block of Karen Street. Officers observed a small fire in the front yard of a residence and were told the fire was started by a incendiary device. Witnesses told officers that two white males in a small black car threw the device at the residence and drove off. A witness followed the suspect vehicle to the 1700 block of Interstate 40 East before the suspect fired shots at the witness, striking him at least once. The witness was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects in this case have not been located. An investigation is ongoing.
