A striking variety of creative works will be on display for three weeks – Sept. 20 to Oct. 12 – when Amarillo College presents the Visual Arts Department’s Faculty Art Show in AC’s Common Lobby Gallery.
An opening-night gala to commemorate the exhibit is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. It is free and open to the public.
The faculty artists will be on hand to talk about their work and their artistic philosophies, and refreshments will be served. Brent Cavanaugh, chair of the Visual Arts Department, will introduce the individual artists at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to Cavanaugh himself, the faculty artists are: Jamie Carrillo, Steven Cost, Victoria Taylor-Gore, Stephanie Jung, Matt McCune, Denis Olson, René West and Seth White.
Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and graphic design will be among the media on display.
The Common Lobby Gallery is located in the Music Building on the Washington Street Campus. The gallery is on the ground floor, in the foyer between the Concert Hall Theater and the Amarillo Museum of Art.
