Voters in Amarillo will have up to three options in each race listed on the ballot in November, as no write-in or independent candidates qualified for the ballot locally this year.
According to ballot certifications released by the Texas Secretary of State’s office, no independent or write-in candidates qualified for ballot access in any statewide contests or local races in Potter or Randall Counties. In state races where each party has fielded a candidate, Texans will have the option to select between Republican, Democratic and Libertarian nominees for various offices.
Locally, the lack of third party candidates on the ballot has guaranteed uncontested victories for particular contenders. In both counties, there will be races where Republican or Democratic nominees will be uncontested, meaning a victory is likely in the November election.
Election Day is November 6th.
