The Amarillo City Council will consider signing off on a loan application during a meeting this week.
On Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will consider approving submission of a loan application to the Texas Water Development Board. The $29.5 million loan, if approved, would be used to fund the implementation of a city-wide “advanced metering infrastructure” project. The loan’s debt service will be funded by issuance of revenue bonds. Residents could also expect up to a 4.5 percent additional rate increase in water and sewage fees in the upcoming year, if approved.
City Councilmembers will meet on Tuesday, January 15th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (601 South Buchanan). The meeting will begin at 1PM, followed by a noon public comment session.
