There was not a whole lot of fundraising action reported by the incumbent members of the Amarillo City Council during finance reports filed this week.
On Tuesday, all four numbered members of the Amarillo City Council filed finance reports with the city secretary, indicating campaign activity from July 2018 to December 31st. With the exception of Councilman Eddy Sauer, there was no fundraising activity announced. All four, with the exception of Councilwoman Elaine Hays, have announced they will be running for re-election in May.
In Sauer’s finance report, he reported $2,325 brought in, with a $2,000 loan. Sauer’s contributions came primarily from two $1,000 donations out of Canyon, and a handful of smaller donations. He also reported owing $2,000 on a loan made to himself in 2017. His only expenditure was a $421 expense to Double U Marketing for a website.
While none of the other members of the City Council reported any activity, challenger Hayden Pedigo, a viral video star running for Hays’ Place 1 spot, also filed a finance report. He indicated no activity. As of press time, no activity was reported by Councilman Howard Smith’s Place 4 challenger, Steven Rosas.
The next finance reports are due in April. The election will be held in May.
