Senator John Cornyn is running for re-election next year, and has already tapped his campaign manager for the 2020 campaign.
This week, Cornyn selected John Jackson as his campaign manager for the upcoming 2020 re-election bid for the U.S. Senate seat. Jackson is a veteran campaign official and party worker, who helped Governor Greg Abbott win re-election over Lupe Valdez and Mark Tippetts in this past November’s gubernatorial election.
In a statement, Cornyn took aim at “national Democrats,” and praised Jackson as an effective campaign manager for his effort.
"It's no secret national Democrats will again target our state and spend millions to wipe out conservatives in Texas," Cornyn said. "John's experience managing large field operations and building winning coalitions will ensure we're ready and help Republicans up and down the ballot."
As of right now, Cornyn does not have any declared Republican or Democratic opponents.
