City officials are seeking the public’s help with an upcoming project.
According to the City of Amarillo, officials are currently seeking volunteers to help with the upcoming “point-in-time” count (PIT count). The count, officials say, helps identify the number of homeless individuals in the community to present an “accurate picture” of the issues facing these individuals.
The survey will be conducted during a 24-hour period this month, on January 24th. An informational meeting for prospective volunteers will be held on January 11th at 10:30am in Room 275 in the Simms Municipal Building (808 S. Buchanan). Donations will also be accepted.
