Potter County’s Precinct 3 Commission seat has already attracted one candidate ahead of the 2020 primary elections.
According to filings listed through the Texas Secretary of State, George Buchenau, Jr. has filed to run for the seat currently held by incumbent Leon Church on the Potter County Commission. Buchenau’s occupation is listed as “retired” through the candidate filing portal, and his application was marked as received earlier this month. Buchenau is running in the Republican primary.
The Precinct 3 seat is currently held incumbent Leon Church, who was first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. It is not yet clear whether Church will run for re-election in 2020.
Candidates have until December 9th to file for a spot on the ballot.
