Randall County Precinct 4 Constable Chris Johnson will have a challenger next year.
This week, deputy sheriff Paula Hicks filed to challenge Johnson in the 2020 Republican primary for the constable position. Johnson and Hicks previously squared off in the 2016 Republican primary for the seat, with Johnson coming away with a 58-42 percent win.
No other candidates filed for the seat, meaning that the winner of this race is likely to be elected Constable in November.
The Republican primary will be held on March 3, 2020.
