Dr. Ronny Jackson, one of the fifteen Republicans running to replace U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) in 2020, got some support this week from a member of the First Family.

On Monday, President Donald Trump’s son, Eric, tweeted in support of Ronny Jackson, telling the former White House Physician to “go get them.”

“Go get them @RonnyJackson4Tx! Let’s #KeepAmericaGreat,” Trump tweeted. The tweet also quoted a tweet by conservative commentator Dan Bongino telling Twitter users to follow Jackson’s recently-created campaign Twitter account.

The tweet was positive, but was not an outright endorsement by Eric Trump, who has long campaigned for candidates supportive of his father’s agenda.

While Jackson got favorable words from Trump’s son, a number of other candidates have also been aligning their campaigns with the Commander-in-Chief. Republican businessman Chris Ekstrom has called himself a “Christian Trump Republican” who is committed to “protecting economic liberty and the America First Agenda.”

Voters will decide this primary race on March 3, 2020.
