Two candidates have joined Elaine Hays and Hayden Pedigo in the race for Amarillo City Council Place 1.
On Friday, Jay U. Kirkman III and Richard H. Herman, Jr. filed to run for the Place 1 spot on the City Council. Herman filed just before the 5PM deadline, after originally declaring his intention to run for Amarillo’s mayoral spot.
Herman is a former Potter County Justice of the Peace, minister, and fence builder. Kirkman is a lifelong resident of Amarillo.
Voters will decide this race on May 4th.
